WHY DOES MY PET EAT GRASS?????

I get this question a lot! Many theories have been proposed such as dietary deficiency, boredom, related to underlining GI disease, to induce vomiting, and many others. A few studies have been done and the majority have concluded that although some dogs will only eat grass when they have an upset stomach, most dogs eat grass because they like it! Puppies, tend to eat grass because they are similar to toddlers and use their mouths to explore the world. So behavioral is most likely the cause, although if your pet suddenly begins eating grass and becomes ill, it is very important to have them examined right away! Also, please make sure your pet does not eat recently fertilized or treated grass. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions on this subject!
